"LETTER FROM THE EDITOR" (by the late Brandon Lynn Shane)

Well, we made it past the debut issue of DigitalMuze magazine and the response was overwhelming!  I received tons of emails from artists, industry people, and friends saying how much they liked the new look and feel.  The most positive comments were that people enjoyed reading the informative articles submitted by our industry contributors.

I received emails from other notables here in Nashville expressing their interest in participating in the magazine and we will be adding more as the magazine grows.

Our intent is to not only feature some of independent music’s most talented artists, but to educate artists on the inner workings of the industry.  We hope to provide insight in a manner that is informative and allow artists to make educated decisions regarding their career.  There is more to gaining success in this industry than merely putting out a new CD. The steps you take should be planned.  Our magazine can be a positive tool for each of you.

But, let me stop there and enlighten you on a few major changes.  The original concept for the magazine was to give positive exposure to indie artists and  provide content that will help artists and song writers understand the music business.  In many discussions with staff members, industry associates, and others over the last two months, we found the need to take things to the next level.

Having been inside the industry for many years and seeing how things work from the inside out, there is no doubt that indie artists were never taken seriously.  The mere word “indie” would cause people in the music industry to roll their eyes.  Unfortunately, this left indie artists having to deal with low level promoters and people more interested in their bank account balance than their CAREER!

So what are our options?

What independent country music really needs is…a REVOLUTION!  That one word set forth a new direction for us here and prompted a complete change in the magazine, our new website, and our direction.  Our magazine is now called MuseRevolution Magazine!  Our new URL is www.muserevolution.com.  The new website is dedicated to assisting you in taking your career to the next level by providing you with an opportunity to use services and products that will greatly enhance your career.

If I could give every indie artist one piece of advice it would be “dare to be different.”  Learn how to set yourself apart from the others.  To put out a CD and post your page on this place and that place out on the net is not going to cut it in this day and age!  Think about this for a minute, have you seriously taken note of your “friends” list lately?  OK, so you have 500 “friends”…. Now count how many of these “friends” are OTHER ARTISTS!  How many times have you had “comments” left from other artists asking YOU to drop by and hear THEIR MUSIC!  Now really, is your intent in posting YOUR page and music to attract other artists?  Shouldn’t you be attracting people that WANT YOUR MUSIC?   And what about all of these sites that host your page?  What is THEIR intent?  Well, it certainly isn’t about YOUR career… its about their TRAFFIC and generating AD REVENUE (income they don't share with you)!

We are about to launch what could potentially be the most pivotal tool for indie artists on the net, MuseRevolution.com.  Finally, a place where artists can gain exposure, knowledge, and have solid career guidance and advice from INDUSTRY people here in Nashville!  Artists can participate in webinars (online seminars) given by associates that excel in their respective fields. As an ARTIST MEMBER, you will also be able to select products and services from the ARTIST TOOLBOX™ that will allow you to present yourself as a "standout" among the crowd!

Muserevolution.com  also offers our REVOLUTION community.  When you first take a look at the community, don’t be alarmed that you can’t add "friends".  Why?  There's a simple explanation for that.  We want fans and people that want to listen to and BUY YOUR MUSIC!  By having your artist page focused on YOU, there are no distractions to take anyone's eyes and ears away from YOUR music! When you really think about it, on other sites, how many friend requests do you get from other artists and "comments" from artists wanting you to go listen to their music?  Do you actually go and listen?  Nope!  Then think about all the comments from artists on YOUR page where they are more like an advertisement to take YOUR fans away from YOUR page!  In all honesty, that's not helping YOUR cause at all.

For the many fans that visit music sites, buying music is a spontaneous act.  This is why it is so important that when someone visits your page, their attention isn’t taken away from YOU and YOUR music.

Muserevolution.com  is NOT another "this space" or "that space".  Our primary goal is to gain worldwide exposure for YOU as an artist!  To provide you with solid promotional tools and to keep you abreast of the many changes coming to the music industry that will affect your music and your career!  Remember, MuseRevolution Magazine and the MuseRevolution website are maintained by experienced industry professionals in Nashville whose primary goals are to assist you in gaining the much needed competitive edge that will help you stand out ABOVE the crowd!

You won’t want to miss out on this opportunity.  The REVOLUTION for independent artists starts NOW!

Join the REVOLUTION today!
